Debut album from these Aberdonian grinders. I gave their demo a positive review on here a while back, and this builds on that- dual vocalled crusty-ish grind that harks back to the classic Earache era- in fact they throw in Napalm Death & Terrorizer covers, so that gives you a good idea where they’re coming from musically. The production on here is dirtier sounding than the demo, which suits the music. They base their lyrics round Scottish history and culture (the Picts, whisky fuelled violence and the grimness of Aberdeen for example), which gives them an interesting slant as opposed to standard political lyrics or singing about nonsense. All in all, this delivers on their initial promise and carves them out a place among the heavy weights of the Scottish underground.
